Por 18 anos o prêmio Critics existem e acertaram 12 vezes os ganhadores do Oscar para Melhor Filme, melhor Ator 12 vezes, 10 vezes na categoria de Melhor Atriz, 11 em Melhor Atriz coadjuvante e 9 em Melhor Ator coadjuvante!
A host da noite foi a atriz e apresentadora Aisha Tyler, adorei sua abertura bem humorada! hahahahaha marcada pelo comentário: "Hoje a noite é voltado para as estrelas, e tem tantas grades estrelas, representando tantos filmes extraordinários que eu não tenho como mencionar todos, então no estilo Hollywood, eu só vou prestar atenção naqueles que eu gostaria de dormir". Chamando então Bruce Dern, Matthew McConaughey, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Tom Hanks, Mark Wahlberg, Lupita Nyong'o, Michael Fassbender, Leonardo DiCaprio,
James Marsden e Christina Applegate, foram os primeiros a apresentar os prêmios de comédia, destacando o Oscar não reconhecer os filmes de comédia para a premiação. Mas os críticos sim, apreciam e dizem: A comédia é uma forma legítima de ARTE.
